Change Music Festival
Music without boundaries
Change Music Festival has its roots in chamber music but has grown in to a special meeting place for music of all kinds where folk, jazz, world music and dance collide and inspire.
The internationally renowned Kungsbacka Piano Trio and Stockholm Syndrome Ensemble are in residence every year.
Guest artists for 2019 will include the peerless Chiaroscuro Quartet with Alina Ibragimova, the chamber orchestra ‘Musica Vitae’, nyckelharpa virtuoso Emilia Amper and jazz star Magnus Lindgren. Soprano Karin Dahlberg, the Swedish Chamber Choir and Rhythm Art Duo return to dazzle, dancer Ida ‘Inxi’ Holmlund and the Stockholm Brass Quintet make their festival debuts and a rich array of extraordinary musicians including Chris Parkes, Rick Stotijn, Johannes Rostamo, as well as rising star Victoria Stjerna, all join us for what promises to be an iconic edition of Change.
Artistic director, Simon Crawford-Phillips and Malin Broman, both recipients of Region Hallands Kulturpris, once again bring invention and cultural richness to this beautiful part of Sweden’s coastline.
This year’s programme circles around ‘Icons’, - performers, composers and events that have defined the cultural world in Scandinavia and around the world, with music from the Baroque through to the present day.
