Jämställd festival - 48 festivaler sökte stöd

On September 25th at 13 pm Musikverket's call 2017: 2 closed. Who is granted support we will know in November. From 4 to 25 September, festivals could seek support to fund an equal artistic booking with artistic content to stage in 2018. The money will only go to fees, travel and accommodation. A total of 48 festivals applied for support. A message about who is granted support will be published on Musikverkets (Swedish Performing Arts Agency) website in November.

National meeting for organizers of music in Sweden

On Saturday, October 7, at 13-16, SAMSPEL call a gathering for Sweden's music organizers and producers. At the meeting - which takes place at the Mediterranean Museum in Stockholm - SAMSPEL's new Tour Web tool, a communication platform for organisers of regional and national tours, is presented as well as SAMSPEL's new tour models. Read more and register (Swedish) HERE!

Ny(a)modigheter - two application deadlines to go!

The project NY(A)MODIGHETER is open to member of MAIS. Like Sweden Festivals, all members have the opportunity to apply for support of up to 15,000 SEK per concert to perform brave concerts - concerts that go beyond what you usually book. The project provides financial support for concert organizers who dare to challenge themselves and existing structures.

2017 Call for NordicBaltic collaborative art projects

As a practical initiative to foster artistic exchange, the NBFP has opened its 3rd call for cross-border collaborative projects. The initiative aims to bring together festivals for new and, hopefully, long lasting partnerships and to foster the exchange of practices and artistic ideas. Applications will be accepted until Monday, 31 July 2017 (included). Applying is open for all arts & culture festivals in the eligible countries including Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Faroe Islands, Åland Islands, Greenland, Poland and the Russian Federation.

The 2017 Conference of the NordicBaltic Festival Platform (NBFP) will be the first-ever dual-city event, taking place on 21-22 November 2017 in Helsingør/Helsingborg (Denmark/Sweden).The Conference aims to bring together managers and artistic directors of festivals from all fields of art and culture to exchange ideas and best practices, make new connections and explore various possibilities for cooperation, and to visit some of the great, avant garde arts shows from the Nordics. NBFP has the far-reaching goal to engage up to 500 Nordic-Baltic arts & culture festivals in its activities.

Welcome to two creative and contentious days in Västerås, 18-19 November.

Check! Is aimed at you who have been organising  for a while, just started to do so or are planning to organise concerts. We aim to strengthen both already established organisers and to help new initiatives over the threshold into the public support system available to music organisers.

Sök stöd till jämställd festival 4-25 september 2017

In the autumn of 2017, Musikverket opens for the second time a targeted call for festivals that want to invest in equal programming 2018. The money that the festivals can seek will go straight to fees, travels and accommodation for professionally active free musicians and composers. The call for applications is open from 4 to 25 September, but already now the criteria can be read on Musikverket's website.

EFA elected new president and board

715 festivals from 39 countries received the EFFE Label

715 festivals from 39 countries received the EFFE Label 2017-2018 as ‘remarkable festivals’ in Europe. On 4 May, the Label 2017-2018 results were announced by the International Jury chaired by Sir Jonathan Mills. EFFE – Europe for Festivals, Festivals for Europe, is Europe’s Label for remarkable festivals initiated by the European Festivals Association. It is an international festival community connecting festivals that are deeply committed to the arts, their communities and Europe.
