The Dalhalla Opera comeback

The Dalhalla Opera Festival makes a magnificent comeback 2015. The festival stages their own version of Turandot by Puccini with none other than Nina Stemme in the lead role. This year the Dalhalla Opera Festival got their dates stolen and could not stage any production. In 2015 they return with acclaim. The well known set designer Bengt Gomér direct and do the set design for Turandot and Bente Rolandsdotter creates the costumes. Tobias Ringborg conducts a full-scale orchestra compriced of the two orchestras: Dala Sinfonietta and Gävle Symphony Orchestra. Congratulation!
DALHALLA stages TURANDOT with Nina Stemme in the title role
After the successful production of Das Rheingold in 2013, it is now with great pleasure that we can once again present a self-produced opera in the summer of 2015.
In this version of the hit opera Turandot, set designer Bengt Gomér will be the stage director and the set designer and thus make his directing debut. He brings his video-based performative work to the fantastic quarry of Dalhalla. Video art is created again this time in close collaboration with Visual Relief.
The title role is sung by Nina Stemme, one of the best Swedish opera singers. Stemme has sung at all the major operas and was last year appointed the world's top opera singer at the International Opera Awards.
In Turandot Dalasinfoniettan and Gävle Symphony Orchestra will together form a full-scale orchestra under the leadership of Tobias Ringborg. A number of locally based choruses and professional opera singers take part in the production.
Tickets for the premiere on 8 August 2015, are released for sale in the fall of 2014. In addition to Turandot, several concerts and other performances will take place in Dalhalla during the period 8 to 16 August 2015. More information will be published in the autumn.
