Swedish Arts Council deadline 16 October

Organizers of music events may apply for next year operational grants from the Swedish Arts Council until 16 October 2014. Deadline for applications are 24:00 hours on 16/10. The Association of Swedish Music Festivals urge music festivals to apply. In January 2014, the Arts Council distributed SEK 28 million in operational grants to 67 organizations. Seven received operational support for the first time and 6 of them were festivals.

- The Swedish Arts Council attaches importance to festivals of national interest, both to reach wider audiences in Sweden, and as a meeting place for the professional music scene, the Arts Council Officer Luciana Marques said then.

The Arts Council grants operational support for the first time to Old Ox Chamber Music Festival, Lyckå Chamber Music Festival, Norberg Festival, Trästockfestivalen, Nordic Romani Festival and Båstad Chamber Music Festival. Other festivals supported are Korrö Folk Music Festival, Kalv Festival, Göteborg Art Sounds, Cluster, Sound of Stockholm, Stockholm Early Music Festival, Geiger, Hagen Festival, Roma Festival, Aurora Chamber Music Festival, Clandestino Festival, Stockholm Folk Festival and the Stockholm Jazz Festival.
