LATINOBAROCK: ENSEMBLE VILLANCICO
Just a few decades after Columbus arrived in America in 1492, Native American boys' choirs could be heard singing European polyphony in the newly built cathedrals of Mexico and Guatemala - in the language of the Aztecs! Over time, the Western musical tradition on the continent was transformed to something new - a unique multicultural fusion of European, Native American and African ingredients. Welcome to discover this popular "Early World Music" with members of the Ensemble Villancico under the direction of Peter Pontvik. The ensemble's clear, homogeneous sound, the passionate, rhythmic interpretations have won international resonance.

With exquisite timing, refined technology and outstanding musicality, every concert with Duo Siqueira Lima is an experience. They have a unique charisma on stage and attending a concert with the duo is something very special. Uruguayan Cecilia Siqueira and Brazilian Fernando Lima met at an international guitar competition in Brazil in 2001. When the jury could not agree on a winner, they had to share the first prize. The following year, they formed the Duo Siqueira Lima. The New York Times has described their playing as "as detailed as a Fabergé egg". A must for guitar enthusiasts and everybody else.
