Music at Lake Siljan – a total immersion in beautiful music and breathtaking natural surroundings!

Welcome to Sweden´s leading summer festival with musical events in concert settings filled with atmosphere. You can choose between indoors, in beautiful churches, museums or concert halls, and outdoors in genuine Dalecarlian villages, in the stunning Dalhalla lime stone quarry, or maybe way out in some picturesque pasture.

Musik vid Siljan has been a festival tradition since 1969, always in the first week of July, and it offers a wide variety of music to suit all ages and tastes. Music at Lake Siljan 2015, is arranged for the 46th time. The festival includes everything from folk dance to improvisation, from the birch trumpet to the soprano saxophone, it includes Bingsjöstämman and courses in choral singing, violin playing and folk dance. Every day during the weeklong festival around Lake Siljan, there is dance in a village in the Dala landscape. 

We invite you to enjoy concerts with classical music, chamber music, church concerts, choir music, ballads and traditional folk music, poetry recitals, traditional dancing to fiddle music in various village cottages, children’s programs and singer songwriters as well as workshops - a feast of musical extravagance!
