Classical chamber music and a music festival for children

On 23rd and 24th June starts 2 week-long classical chamber music festivals and Virserum Music Festival focusing on children and young people. Båstad Chamber Music Festival on the Bjäre Peninsula in Skåne and the Saxå Chamber Music Festival in the borderland between Filipstad and Grythyttan opens both with inaugural speeches, soprano soloist and string quartett. In Båstad music by Klas Torstensson and Ludwig van Beethoven and at the Saxå mansion we hear Respighi followed by Brahms and Dvorak. In Virserum the festival opens on June 23rd with a magnificent liturgy in gospel tone.
Week of Virserum interspersed by classical, jazz and ballads and ends with Björn Ranelid and Stockholmskvartetten. The program includes British, Saxå Wagner and Elvis Costello and new Swedish music by a Duo.D. E on Baroque instruments.In Båstad is this year's theme ' portraits ' which means musical descriptions of people and different characters but also by specially selected moods, sounds and nature. This year's composer in Båstad is Klas Torstensson!
