Jam-packed jazz from Haparanda to Sandviken
27 to 30 June have two jam-packed jazz and blues festivals to visit. Kalottjazz- and Blues Festival in Haparande celebrates 30 with jazz, blues and various commemorative exhibitions. Sirpa Särkijärvi is this year's visual artist and among mainly Swedish and Finnish performing artists we find M.A.Numminen, Claes Jansson, Jukka Perko, Mariam Aida, Modern Sounds, Chickpeas and Iiro Rantala String Trio and others. Bangen Jazz and Blues festival in Sandviken is on for the 23rd time. The festival opens June 28 with Roger Pontare and Sandviken Big Band in the City Park. During two days the festival display artists like Alice Ricciardi, Jasmine Kara, Jan Allan, Karin Hammar, Isabella Lundgren, Svante Thuresson, Victoria Tolstoy, Claes Crona Trio and the super Big Band GUBB.
