The tasks for Västmanlandsmusiken goes beyond the orchestra
Swedens free operating concert organizers have followed the developments in Västmanlandsmusiken with great concern. The successful public opinion to preserve the Sinfonietta is completely understandable, but now that it has been decided to keep the orchestra without adding additional resources, we risk that the regions other activities will suffer. MAIS samlar riksförbunden Svensk Jazz, Riksförbundet för Folkmusik och Dans (RFoD), Riksförbundet Arrangörer av Nutida Konstmusik (RANK), Kammarmusikförbundet, Sveriges Orkesterförbund, Sveriges Körförbund, Kontaktnätet, Riksförbundet Visan i Sverige och Sweden Festivals.
Tillsammans representerar medlemsförbunden 1 400 musikföreningar som anordnar uppemot 10 000 konserter årligen. Vi räknar med att ungefär 120 000 personer arbetar aktivt i föreningarna.
