5 million to support gender booking on festivals
55 festivals sought support for gender equality on festivals. Almost half - 26 festivals - got to share 5.2 million (5,235,930) SEK. So much money was allocated in the call form the Swedish Performing Art Agency where festivals could seek support in order to work for gender artist booking. The decision was taken by the agency's creative council November 18, 2016. Several of Sweden Festivals member festival received grants, including Båstad Chamber Music Festival, Kalvfestivalen, Korrö Folk Music Festival, Stoclkholm Early Music Festival, Change Music Festival, Gotland Chamber Music Festival and others.
