European Day of Early Music

21 March has by REMA - European Early Music Network - for the first time been declared the European Day of Early Music. The patron of the Day is Androulla Vassiliou, member of the European Commission and on the REMA website you may hear her message.
The 21st of March is also the birthday of Johan Sebastian Bach and in Sweden the Early Music Festival celebrated the Day with a concert "Bach på Svenska" by Lisa Rydberg, violin, and Gunnar Idenstam, organ. Peter Pontvik, artistic leader of the festival is also the President of REMA, recently reelected for another two years.
